Marc started in the industry in 1977, on Apple ][ and Radio Shack machines, and stayed with it through CP/M, MS-DOS, Novell and every version of Windows since. He spent years as a senior network technician for two computer sales and service companies before deciding that the way to take proper care of customers was to be the one making the decisions.
So in 2000 he started Millennium Computer Services in South Florida. The Sun-Sentinel profiled him at the launch, and his reason has not changed: “When you work for somebody else, they are the ones who make the decisions on how to take care of the customers. I wanted to make the decisions.”
The same article carries the line that still sums up the job. A good technician, Marc told them, “needs to be 50 percent technician, 40 percent magician and 10 percent psychiatrist. You have to do more than fix the problem. You have to make the customer comfortable.”
Today Millennium works remotely, which means the help is the same wherever your office is: a call, a screen-share, and a fix you can watch. Small businesses, home offices, one computer or a small network. Prompt response, competitive rates and quality workmanship, from someone who will still be here next year.
